Stole the words right out of my mouth Baka. He is right like usual. And also your to lean on the main.

At least you only soft seized it once and you still have good compression.

I was running 100:1 premix plus the oil pump , still not sure exactly what went wrong. Maybe I was running it too hard too early, I am a bit impatient when it comes to break-in!

It really sounds awful now and has lost power, it vibrates badly off throttle and sounds nothing like it did before the seize.

Last compression check at 110 psi, its officially toast!
I just pulled the jug and the piston has been slapping madly in there, not salvageable at all. Last SB50 I built with the complete stock size cylinder and piston kit from Taz. It is still running fine but the porting on it sucked and it looked like the chamfering had been done by a drunk with a dremel! I still have a spare cylinder which could be bored .5 over if I could find a nice OS piston... I am really keen to stick with Honda parts as I have yet to see aftermarket cylinders of any quality. Back to the drawing board... :eyeroll:

Dont give up! BBK's are reliable, do you use a temp? 30.00$ goes a long way towards success. There are enough guys on this forum, we can figure your build out with you. Half the fun is the reward of accomplishment.

Well I am still breaking in and tuning my Malossi / Aero 50 combo but this one is for sale sooo....
Variator trumps a silly old 44mm bore anyday :bowrofl:
I had an SE50 donor just sitting there staring at me so I did a one day motor swap!

As i and others have said its easyer to fit a se50 variated afo5e or af16 to a spree or elite than it is to fit a big bore kit and tune it .And the variated motor will smoke any spree or elite unvariated motor

running compression for stock to 44mm is 90-120.

Also suggesting that it is easier to swap and engine than to install a BBK and tune is just hilarious.

Did you think going 3 full sizes up was going to make the scooter hit 45mph and do wheelies?

And yes a variated engine will out perform a solid pulley engine. We already know this paul. You sound like a broken record.

The engine swap looks good and sorry to hear you had problems with both your BBK's.

No worries , Taz it was doomed from the start because the tolerance was wrong. My Malossi is doing fine, just needs some fine tuning.
The 44mm piston I got from you actually still looks usable, the rings weren't trashed it was just slapping against the bore. I will live and learn on this one. My brother did a great job on the head with a 5-axis CNC!
