Oil Plug blown Out!!!!!!

Post by WeeMan »

Is this a common issue. I have an af05e engine and have replace the oil pump with a plug from daywot. The plug fits in perfectly but just now blew out under revs. Have I fitted it wrong?

Cheers

The plugs don't like to stay in on there own. You need to make something to hold it in.

That makes sense lol. I have just put a washer in with a nut for temporary it works fine for now. Think I have too much crankcase pressure any how. Thanks for the response.

Cheers

I have Malossi head, barrel and piston. I stripped it down and replaced all seals and gaskets, Did a compression test and got 195 psi. From reading the forums this seems high?

195 psi is high. Add a thicker head gasket.

Hondabond the plug and hold the plug in with a washer. The earlier made plugs you would have to tap in with a mallet i guess they just got sloppy in producion with the newer ones

My plug does stick out about 2mm but I did not want to give it a tap with the hammer in case I split the case? Should it fit flush with the case? Its an af05e.

Cheers

The question is how hard should I whack it? I did try and hammer it but like I say didnt want to hit it too hard and do some damage.
