2001 Honda Dio SK50?(Canada) Upgrade Options
I'm looking for a tiny bit more power for going up steep hills.
Motor is AF18
40mph is max speed is all i need(already have it)
I've already changed Variator and rollers.
Can I install a 65cc-70cc kit, rejet the 14mm stock Carb, keep stock airbox, and use the stock pipe, or would the engine blow up?

Greetings:
Malossi Iron or Polini Cortessa cylinders have been used with stock carb and pipe and with good success. Torque is sure to improve, if not top speed.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm only looking for like 3mph more up big hills, or for windy days. My weight is 235, so maybe my other option is losing 40lbs.

I've tried all kinds of BigBoreKits, and blown up several pistons while doing so. The expensive part of the research is the carburetor options. But I have hit 60+mph several times, usually just before exploding the whole unit. My suggestion would be to go for one of the quality BBK packages that use the stock carburetor & exhaust e.g. anything up to 72cc like the Polini. I've tried the 50mm Taiwan BBKs which are totally hair-raising, but they don't last very long before something nasty happens (see photo).el_walto wrote:I'm looking for a tiny bit more power for going up steep hills.

Nice piston. It has got a nice speed hole in it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVV_COOey0E
Yeah, if i upgrade it, I'm just going to do the 72cc kit with rejetted stock carb and using the stock exhaust. If they sold a 65cc for af18 I'd get that.
Right now i have 10,000km on stock piston, not sure how long those last.

if youre just looking for more power up hills i would try a stronger center spring, very cheap and easy
Re: 2001 Honda Dio SK50?(Canada) Upgrade Options
No worry. I have about 15,000 miles (~24,000km?) on mine (the one with the holed piston) and it's back on the road again for the 5th time. It still looks like it has lots of life left. They're really well-built, but be sure to replace the small-end roller bearing each time you change the piston.el_walto wrote:Right now i have 10,000km on stock piston, not sure how long those last.

I was just told that your cdi needs to changed out=$100 plus you can port the cylinder.
some people dream of speed, i own your dreams!
