Tuned performance pipe for Spree...

Post by noiseguy »

How much would you be willing to pay for a tuned pipe for the Honda Spree? This is for a pipe that's been proven to work on at least one Spree and gets some sort of speed improvement. Vote up above, as far as what you'd want to pay and what you'd want to get. This is something I've been puttering with for awhile. It won't take much more work to knock out several of these if I have to build one.

I thought Dallasmysterycrew was going to take this on, but I haven't seen anything from him for awhile now, so who knows where he is on this project....

I'd pay the 175 if I didn't already have a pipe that gave me 9 mph. All I have to do is chrome it and then I've got the 175 dollar pipe.
I try to fix things with a hammer and wrench!

I'd buy one for 100 bucks. I'd buy the plans for 20 though also.

"Under $100" was pretty much the consensus.

I've thought about making some up to sell, mostly to pay off the MIG welder I'd need to buy to weld them up. Not sure there's enough interest, though. I'd modify a Chinese pipe, though, rather than make one from scratch. Like I did with mine.

if you bolt this pipe on a stock spree with no other modifications will it still give you the 9mph that you are claiming.

Depends on how slow you were to begin with. One guy jumped from 25 MPH to 34 MPH (indicated,) which is where the title came from (this is a really old post.) I got something like 5 MPH with the one I built, and a lot better topend power. You lose something on the bottom end, though, so you need to bring up the clutch RPMs to compensate.

And yeah, that was the only change I'd made. I'd like to take the same scoot, report the exhaust slightly (enlarge and advance port timing), get the pod filter working with the adjustable main jet that Greg sent, and swap in a fresh set of rings to see where everything ends up. Time time time.

One thing I'd need on these are the downpipes from the exhaust to the chamber. It's not an easy piece to fab up from scratch, and stock exhausts are abundant for these.
