Engine swap
I know this has been talked about before, but how hard would it be to swap in another motor from another scoot. Iam thinking about swaping in a honda metropolitan engine into a spree. I know its not a two stroke or probably the Dio motor is better but I prefer the relabitly of a four stroke. just wondering what would I need to consider?
Why not just ride the metro? If it is a Metro II, take out the restrictors. I'd ride a Metro any day over a Spree. If each were for sale, for the same price, and the Spree was perfect, I'd still buy the Metro.

2 strokes have less moving parts, wear more on the piston rings, are lighter and easier to work on,
4 strokes have more parts make less power for more than 30 % more displacement, harder to work ,last longer, and weight alot more.
For daily driver , I would stuff a 100 cc 4 stroke motor into a spree , for just wanting to ride and have fun I would stick 125cc 2 stroke,stroker in it

If you want headaches and you've never worked on one before, go out an buy a bike with a non running DOHC engine. I sure wish I'd have bought another 2 stroke dirtbike than my KLR250. 2 strokes are much, much easier to work on. Not as many expensive parts you can wreck, too. I finally got my KLR250 running the other day. After working on it almost every weekend since May, and if not weekends, a few hours per week. Finally got it to fire up and run for 5-10 seconds, after messing around with so much with it, and fixing one problem, and finding another. 4 strokes sound better, and last longer, but, are kind of a pain to work on. I've never owned a Honda 4 stroke anything, but have seen the top end torn down on a XR50 (someone too large for it had been jumping it, bent the forks, and let the front tire rub a hole in the head. The whole engine was loaded with sand. But, that engine was just the basic Honda SOHC design, just with little valves, cam, etc.
