Malossi big bore kit for SE50

Post by zenkislider »

Im about to order the Malossi BBK(65cc??) for my 93 elite SR(afo5e), and I have a few questions I'm hoping to get the answers to. Ive searched around a lot but can't seem to find concrete information. Any input would help a lot, thanks!

Here is a link to the BBK Im going to order. Is this a 65cc bore kit?
http://scooterswapshop.com/store/scoote ... g-bore-kit

My questions are..
1) Does this come with everything that I will need for my bike to run properly? I realize I can make it faster with gears, intake, exhausts, etc. But I just want it to run well for now.
2) Will I need to premix oil for this bbk on top of the oil injection system, or will the stock oil injection system be enough?
3) What is the break in routine for this?

You will need to upjet your carb and yes you will need to add some premix to the tank or remove the oil pump grind the teeth off the gear shaft reinstall and run full premix in the tank at 32:1 .

Will I have to run premix all the time or just during the break in period? If I keep the stock oil pump what would the premix ratio have to be?

He will definitely take care of you. Give it time. It is possible to run the pump and a mild premix but full premix is definitely the way to go if you're going with a bore kit. It will help prolong the life and performance of the bore for sure! I know premixing sounds like a PITA now, but you'll get used to it, and your elite will thank you for it. 32:1 like pauly said. Choose a nice oil and stick to it! Castor 927 snd klotz r50 are a couple good choices.

Break in period will be different depending who you talk to. There is plenty of info on here if you search, and in sure graphite9 can give you some pointers. Pretty much start with heat cycling and be sure to run a couple tanks worth of half throttle riding before you start giving it all it has to offer!
