What are people doing in order to allow clearance of a wider reaR tire with an upgraded rear shock?

I saw someone on here did some cutting and welding on the lower bracket in order to move it over slightly. And someone else said you can us a shock extender. From what I am seeing online , these are basically a block that is offset like the lower shock mount bracket, and is offset like the stock bracket. I get that it would move over the shock a little bit, but not big on the fact that it adds length also.

Is there something available that will simply offset the stock a little to clear the tire without adding length?

Also, anyone know if a Ruckus style shock might fit?
Just curious because they offer some super cool looking units with external reservoirs. It looks like the length from bolt hole to bolt hole is the same. Also has the offset lower mount which looks the same as the stock shock.

Also, assuming you are able to move the lower mounting of the shock out a little bit, what happens with the top?

The malossi rs24 is offset pretty well, but I still ended up using a shock extender from graphite to ensure it doesn't rub my tire. I also use a str8 extender that works fine. You do have to get use to the extra height but it's nothing.

Both my Daytona shock and Honda Wolaroo shock cleared 90/90 on met rims. they are close but close is fine they won't get any fatter while riding. I was going to get a shock extender but I don't like the added hight.

Did that Walaroo lift the ride height in the back?

Nope same length as stock but with adjustable stiffness, it's a nice shock.

What would I search for? Walaroo shock?

Just a question about your stock shock length: what is the length from eye end to eye end?
Mine is 10" and I just wanted to see how the Walaroo compares.

I bought it on treatland I think was about 2 years ago not sure if it's still available.

Not sure 270mm if I remember right which is closer to 11 inches.

So do you think a low down shock 235 gonna rub a 90 tire?

I *think* the stock is 260mm

One thing I've noticed is that some of the options have the coil spring which is nearly the full length of the shock, and others have the spring just up top.

The only good way to do this is to stick a bunch of shocks on a bike with a 90/90-10 and see what happens. This is very expensive though lol It is too bad that this stuff isn't something you could go to the store and look at. Everything is a crap shoot unless you know someone who has one that is working on their bike.

Both of my shocks the spring is only 1/2 or2/3s of the total length which helps a lot and keeps it away from the tire.

The malossi for jog is closest to stock, the malossi for dio is 270mm, for jog is 240mm ish. I have quite a few different shocks and honestly none of them are perfect in one way or another. Near perfect is the malossi for jog and the chrome one from VT cycles.
The rs24 is leaps and bounds a better shock than the VT one but was also a bit more.

I have the same shock as you and will also need a shock extender to make it work, I also have a fat tire and the huge polini filter that is in the way too. Gotta be creative to make it work. I Was gonna try out a ruckus with reservoir but choose malossi of well know brand.
