Better start up, cleaner revs at high rpms, and cheaper than buying an oem also. Only one map tho and the stage 6 has 2

Cool. Are there any differences in the 2 malossi cdis? Other then the rev limit switch on the one.

Whitey and I ran the stock cdi and the malossi cdi on his stroker to see if it would alter his temps. Not difference, so we put a timing light on it and revved til about 8k with both. We saw essentially NO difference. We didnt get into higher revs though.

When they're scoped there's a world of difference. Ive been told I should say as Ive yet to try. Your eye can't see the path they both take as they both curve from the get go. A timing light is good for checking base and irregular revs.

Good info. I've been looking at the malossi cdi so I will wait to hear something on the stage6 before I pull the trigger. G9 where you at??? Have you tested one yet?

He hasn't yet I asked. I'm hoping someone has used it and knows the low down. I'm interested in the dual maps, maybe ones for race and ones more, uh retarded.

What would you consider the malossi map as? Race or just a better then stock option?

Just better than stock, but not much. Way better than the China cdis that have bad initial timing. Josh/Aeromyst from another forum or 2 did a write up on them.
The biggest thing is always going to be how far it retards at high rpms. Further retarded the hotter the exhaust gases get so the quicker they flow.

For some reason I was thinking the "aftermarket" cdi's retarded, advanced, then retard again at higher rpm to keep temps down, but maybe that is head temps?
