Best way to disable "power jet" ?
I have yet to find anyone on here who has had luck getting the power jet that is on some carbs to work properly. It seems like it would just "work" but supplying some extra fuel at WOT, but it seems that anyone who had tried ends up with an extra rich condition while it is active. Would it really be a negative to just let it run and be a little rich at WOT? If it is rich, how rich are we talking?
That being said, what is the best way to disable the power jet? Is it as simple and just remove the power jet fuel hose and capping the fittings?

A Daisy .177 caliber BB in the existing polyurethane tubing effectively "caps" both ends.

So, just jam a BB into the hose and leave it on? Is that a standard BB? I have a coffee can full of them from my old BB guns.

Yup. I put in 2; one at each end, but it really doesn't matter so long as the line is plugged. It beats trying to find barb caps in that size, let alone the little clips to hold them on.

.177 caliber is the only BB size I have ever seen...

And while we are still talking about this carb, do these two vent ports actually need to have hoses on them? Would fuel even travel up these? If so, is there any reason why I couldn't use a "T" between them connected to one hose in an attempt to limit the amount of tubes hanging off the back of the engine?

The lines keep rain out of the barbs, maybe. I always run without.

Those are the float bowl vent lines if your worried about the look of the hoses hanging down I would just take them off or shortin them i have never used a T to hook them together but I don't think it will restrict the vent enough to cause a problem you should be fine

I hesitate to offer any info because i have never had the pictured carburetor,
but both of those are possibly not bowl vents, maybe they are, but...I mean, why would there be TWO vents ?
I would verify exactly WHAT those are before I did anything differently...err on the side of caution...

Re: Best way to disable "power jet" ?
your right, if either of those hoses connect to any thing on the other side of the hose they are not vents but if the just go to atmosphere "hang there " they can only be vents most flat slide and semi flat slide carbs have two float bowl vents there are even some bigger carbs that have four vent hoses

Re: Best way to disable "power jet" ?
Theyre vent hoses. But I would leave them separate so they can vent faster. You half the volume available if you tee them and they will try to balance each other if T. If yoyou take a sharp turn and all gas on one side it needs the other side to be able to vent and balance or it will get stuck.
Re: Best way to disable "power jet" ?
Gotcha. I'll probably just leave them running out of the back I guess. I was trying to see if I could reduce all of the hose. There are 3 off the carb, and 1 off the gear case. Just a lot of hose running out of the back.

I always thought the hoses looked kinda cool...especially if your using cool colored fuel line. so, what's the power jet for? Does it work at all? I'm looking at grabbing an oko w one and I'm wondering what it's all about.
