getting ready to do a af16 build and have a few questions, going with the Polini 72cc bbk and Arrow exhaust my questions are on carb and intake, I am looking at the Stage 6 intake and reed block assembly and wondering if anyone is using this setup and is it good and other question is on carb am currently thinking Polini 19mm carb and wondering what difference is between the CP and the PWK?

Stage6 or Naraku intake...24mm PWK w/Main and Pilot jet kits...Stage6 pod filter...tach and CHT of choice

Youre going to want to do gears and CVT upgraded also.

Greetings:

9:1 gears do great on stock or mildly modified (iron cylinder) Sport setups. They are a bit short for a Corsa in my experience, unless your priority is acceleration over top speed. Consider 8.3s or taller.

okay and since sum part sites don't go by 8.3 they go by tooth count what does 8.3 equal out too

looking at scooter swapshop site on gears a 15x42 is for stock or mild 72cc builds and is a 9.8 :1 and they say for 72cc builds a 16x42 9.2:1 is best and a 17x41 or 8.2:1 is for smaller cc strokers, so which is it really

I have 17x41 (8.4:1) in one of mine and 16x42 (9.1:1) in all the others. Ive also tried the 10’s and even 7’s but both didnt do what I wanted. It really depends on your riding style. If you mainly ride in the city then the 9’s are the torquey gears that blast you off the line. If youre more of a rural twisty country road carver and you spend most of your time topped out at full throttle then go for the 8’s.

I have multiple scooters that are setup all in different ways. Which one I ride depends if Im out for a leisurely cruise through the country at 60mph+ or if Im riding with the boys in the city on full urban assault!

they have a 16x 36 and a 16x42, which of them would have more top end speed

Get the 16x42...the difference in top speed between those is minuscule.

The 16*36 gears are primary gears that do not require you to have the gear pressed off and a new one pressed on so they just swap out. The 16*42 are secondary gears and do require you to press off the gear from the axle shaft and press on the new gear. The 16*36 are way too tall for city driving IMO
