92 Honda Elite with 63cc bore kit

Post by Dac »

ok so i have a 92 honda elite that was slow (like 30-35 mph) and then the piston, rings, and cylinder went to *
so i called up vtcycles and got .....
-Proma Big Bore 63cc...........Bore: 46mm
-Hi-Speed Pulley Kit..............8.5g Rollers
-Roller Weight Set................six-5's grams / three-6's +three 9's grams
-Clutch Spring......................unknown
-main jet.............................#88
got it all installed and broke it in real soft for 200 miles then did nothing 35mph till 400 miles. now its all broke in and its not that fast.

it pulls 36-38 with me sitting up right on a flat surface i can get it to about 41-42 if i get down to be more aerodynamic on a long strewth.
i got a friend with a stock 4-stoke 07 metropolitan that has same take off and about top speed as me. its fast from 0 to 30-35 mph but its SLOW climbing after that. right now i have the 8.5 grams in it now, i had the 6's+9's that was good but 30+ was super slow climbing. the 5's just sucked;top speed 25mph and almost no take off
i tried drilling out 2 of my muffler's baffles but no help. got to say it does sound cooler. also if it makes a difference i have a UNI pod air filter

any ideas how to make it faster or is this really it?

Did you do a plug chop? something isnt right it should be doing lots better than that. Hows the belt? Aint the variators in those restricted? Check for a washer in the exhaust?

heres a quick pic of my speed-o taken with my cell
Image
judging by my friends speed-o it was about 39-41 mph

yeah sorry i didn't say all that stuff. i did not do a plug chop, i had my last fresh plug i put in this morning and i was going to but it was to hot, i went to let it cool but then i ran into my friend and just zoned out
the belt it fine amazingly. the variator was not restricted as far as i know but it was full of grease that limits it. but i got the new variator with in the pulley kit. also i checked my pipe for the washer and nothing, i also checked my carb manifold that some one said might have a washer but nothing

i just started a topic here about what size jet to use.
do you really think 100???? that seems huge

(quick question; what bore do you have on your elite? and whats your top speed?)

you take this plate off?

http://www.scootertherapy.com/Eliteclutchpage.html

what about drilled out the plate in the exhaust? I drilled out the washer at the beginning of my muffler pipe some..this is how it looked before:

Image

and I could still could open it up a little more though and I can hit 28-30mph once it warms up which is alot better than 22 or 23. I can tell the clutch is still limited as leaning down doesn't increase the top speed any more. And once I change the belt I'm taking off the restrictor plate on the front clutch..and it is a completely stock engine so thats my wisdom

ok so i got my belt cover off today. and got the 'front clutch' off
i looked at it for a while and realized that taking it off wouldn't make no difference at all{this is a 92 elite, not 94+} 92 elite's can go all the way over even with the back plate on
bummer...

-I called up honda today about it being so hard to start and they said it was the petcock, would a slowed petcock also slow me down? if so im going to go buy one
