1988 honda elite e help

i just recently purchased a 1988 honda elite e 50cc, moped runs good and goes about 30mph i was wondering if there is anything i can do with factory parts to increase speed.? i've heard there is something that can be done with the muffler. i have also read that there is a restrictor plate on it as well, can that be removed? i would really appreciate any help. thanks
