an engine squish is when u replace the cylinder gasket with a thinner one like a copper gasket or a silicone gasket, by doing so it makes the piston get closer to the spark plug and there for a bit more compresstion. atleast that what i have heard. and it worked real well on my venom... the comprestion got noticbly better.

oh, noiseguy did something similar. he machined the head. he machined more then u would get out of a thinner gasket and there was no difference.

Hey, do you have an Elite manual yet?

I removed about .017" from the head safely. It bumped compression up to around 130 PSI. It started easier and ran a little stronger, but no faster. The stock head gasket is .020, so if you replace it with something smaller you can get a similar bump "for free."

Make sure your head is level b/f you try this. If it's warped at all you'll just get blowby.

Also a good idea to check your running clearances b/f you start it. Use electrical solder taped to the inside of the head in a cross pattern, bolt the head up and torque it, and turn the piston around by hand. Use a micrometer to check the solder clearance. Mine's running just at .020" to the head, which I thought was probably adequate (and wouldn't want to run much closer.)

I think .020 is the limit, I believe that Honda designed the clearance so that the scoot could be run w/o a head gasket without blowing up, in case someone forgot to install it.

Have fun.
