Question about a big bore kit.

Post by DorkoElite303 »

There has been talk long ago about a big bore kit that was a 100cc that did not require any block modfication(block shaving). It was round cylinder kit and not square.

Is this that kit?

So this is a stroker bore??? You think this one is the FM 3gen round bore???

What bore would I use for a mini stroker? Also...which mini stroker do I look that doesn't require any shaving?

Well it lot of critical work hard head , there some bore will work or not, same like crank. Or money down the drain....

1)there are some mini stroker crank out there, not very close to fm 44.4mm.

2) taiwan big stroker kit, does have different piston, height/width must work with correct stroker crank!( due to length on conrod).

3) big stroker kit Not very reliable compare to malossi/polini.

here is the fable.

The daytona bore 72cc from japan work good on honda stock crank!
Daytona bore 72cc work on FM 44.4mini stroker crank Can't make complete full buttom
dead center, dues to piston design/ full counter mini stroker design.

polini/malossi work on fm 44.4mm ,need to add 3mm base gaskets.

is it the 44.4mm ruma crank or is there a 44.1mm crank? Cause i read alot about people having to shave the bottom of the skirts of the piston so it does not hit the crank????

Ever read my stickied elite build in this forum??

I fit a 44.4mm Ruima along with Polini Corsa top end, and lots of info is described with pics.

Did not have to shave bottom of skirt, corsa piston cleared fine.

I'd have to disagree with the 3mm worth of base gaskets though, i did that first with 4 total base gaskets with decent results but not lasting, ended up using 2 base gaskets with much better results and netting 74cc. each gasket thickness at 0.8mm
projects galore :nerd:

Yeah I did read your sticky. That's why I was confused. In the post you mentioned you had a 44.1mm crank and not a 44.4mm crank. So that's why I thought you didn't need to shave the bottom of the skirt. But if you had a 44.4mm, then it makes a difference. So.... I can only run a corsa piston with a 44.4mm crank????

yes,you can run 44.4mm crank on corsa. does make different on engine displacement. Dont need to shave piston.

Just to let you know , there are some piston have different design. some piston will work or not. stock crank or fm 44.4mm crank.
