As long as the motor is not toast( "works fine" is not very descriptive), it doesn't matter at $200. Report the vin and we can tell you though.Gingerbread Man wrote:I think I will tomorrow morning. Do you what year that could be?

I ran the VIN it's 1993.
eliteguy50 is # 19 a restriction washer?

Is this the pipe I want?

and this kit sounds like a good idea to go along with a new UNI.

Yes, number 19 is the top speed restriction washer. It also gives a slightly better take off so you lose that a tad bit but it is not noticable to most.Gingerbread Man wrote:I ran the VIN it's 1993.

That is a good pipe, I am running it right now. I have never seen new ones that cheap, not even on an ebay auction from an individual.
I don't know what kit you are referring to. The last two links are the same. Even without a UNI filter, that pipe will make a big difference.

Awesome thanks.
Here is the link I meant sorry.

Would these make any noticeable difference on throttle response?

Re: What Yamaha model and year is this?
Um, you will get a larger response from the throttle when using this pipe if that is what you are asking. It depends on how you tune it if you are looking for a crisp throttle response. A lot of that has to do with tuning your CVT setup too. Are you bone stock other than the pipe and UNI? Are you going to get a pod filter UNI or get UNI filter material cut to fit the OEM air box?Gingerbread Man wrote:Awesome thanks.

Re: What Yamaha model and year is this?
Ok I'm a dork! I tried to copy the link right but it keeps going back to the pipe. If you go to the site under Jog 50 you will see some carbon fiber reeds, that is what I was thinking of for crisp throttle response. The other link was to main jets.
Right now I have order a complete new OEM top-end minus the cylinder. The Jog did not have an air-filter when I bought it. The UNI I think I want is the clamp-on POD filter.
The pipe comes w/clutch springs and roller weights. I don't know what set up they will ship me though. All this will eat up my budget of around $200. I'm going for 50 mph. I did 40 the day I bought it. It has 3.00 tires front and back.

Re: What Yamaha model and year is this?
CF reeds?
Jet kit?
If you are looking for more top speed, I would upgrade the variator before the reeds.
BTW, that jet kit goes well beyond anything you will need with that pipe and a UNI.

Re: What Yamaha model and year is this?
After a long rebuild here is he finished result. I ended go to a 68cc kit w/the Leo Vince pipe. I an running a 115 main jet and a 44 pilot. I put a UNI pod filter w/a Outerwear cover. Thanks for the advice on the washer, I gained 2mm of height on the variator.
