1981 Honda c70 ((Lots of Pictures!!))

Post by MariePhotography »

My boyfriend got one a short while back and we are fixing it up.

Info:
C70 Passport was the elder brother of the Honda Super Cub, with more power and the same cheap economical ride and reliability. It had a 72 cc air-cooled single overhead cam engine, a semi-automatic 3-speed gearbox, and enough horse power to pull this bike to a top speed of 50 mph (80 km/h). First models had 6 v electrics. All models have a full-enclosed drive chain for less maintenance.

Looks like a nice project, you gonna do a frame up restoration or just get it back to a useable state?
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Mopedman: That's what that rusted-out frame that you had was. Do you still have that thing?

I think that the Chinese-knockoff 110-120cc engines are a bolt-in to that frame. They would make a nice upgrade if so if you can't get the stock engine running.

See, I should have known there would be a forum for that...

Not bad, a new engine for $350 or so... wish I could find Chinese Elite engine knockoffs that easily.
