Gyro copy?
I saw a lot of full canopy scooters like this in europe but they where on just 2 wheels, not three. I would think the wind would catch this and the pivot would throw back pluss the top heavy canopy not being hard mounted to the rear
anyways here is the link for your viewing plesure http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/150-cc-S ... 06.c0.m245
I found it when trying to find this http://www.sunl.com/SPIDER-150.html I want a real spyder (BRP) but just can't afford it and I don't want to sign my life away on a 19% loan either.

Re: Gyro copy?
Interesting trikes you found there. The first trike looks bigger than a Gyro Canopy. The link to 'Spider' is sure different, kind of a cross between a scooter and ATV.
BTW - There is another Spyder trike around. http://spyder.brp.com/en-US/See/Can-Am/Showroom/Index

Re: Gyro copy?
Ya, that is what I was talking about (cant afford the loan...), the Sunl is a cheap (way smaller motor) knock off of the true spyder. the BRP spyder is awesome, I told a friend about it then he and his brother both got one but I still cant buy my own yet. they are amazing machines but the controls and everything are different from a motorcycle, I guess this was made with cagers in mind I had a vw trike a long time ago and they don't corner at speed but the spyder corners great with that reverse trike design.mousewheels wrote:BTW - There is another Spyder trike around. http://spyder.brp.com/en-US/See/Can-Am/Showroom/Index

Re: Gyro copy?
I think the sunl looks better than the "real spyder" and would be a cheap option to drop a sportbike motor into.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Re: Gyro copy?
If the frame could hold the power (stock motor is only 9hp). performance in the corners is what I was looking for though, there isn't a trike out there that can touch it. but if you like the sunl better then you would probably really like the Campagna T-Rex, it comes with a sportbike engine(different engines depend on the year) and it has a six speed (2004 and later) tranny, If you add the aero 3s body it is just hotKenny_McCormic wrote:I think the sunl looks better than the "real spyder" and would be a cheap option to drop a sportbike motor into.

I like the 80s trihawk trike, sucks that HD never did anything with it after buying em out.

Re: Gyro copy?
it is not bad for show but there is too much weight in front of the front axle to handle all that well

Re: Gyro copy?
they are cool but expensive as * again. they have a button you push as you roll up to a stop, like under 5mph and you can lock the front end so you don't have to put your feet down, but it auto unlocks when you start going again and that has made a learning curve, especially for people who don't even ride bikes. they handle well but cant touch the spyder, other than the T-rex, I have yet to find something comprable to the spyder's handling and the spyder is less than half the cost of the t-rex.ALOW1 wrote:What about a Piaggio MP3?

Re: Gyro copy?
wow, I just found out about an old school reverse trike...the Ghia * (Ford). in true scooter fashion this was a * 200cc piaggo engine, rated at 12hp. it was mated to a sequential four speed to get a top speed of 55mph.
I wish they made production

Not a gyro, no pivoting rear(that I can see), just a trike.eliteguy50 wrote:chinese Ruckus gyro? http://www.happyscooters.com/3-Wheels-M ... p-643.html

Re: Gyro copy?
wow, you are right. It is * like a parked gyro so i just assumed and didn't look closer, but I guess that is just chinese quality because that is a squared frame.Kenny_McCormic wrote:Not a gyro, no pivoting rear(that I can see), just a trike.
