I miss seeing these old bike in S FL. They don't exist; assume they all rusted away and/or were ridden to pieces.

Greetings:

The 400-Four and its 350-cc predecessor are worthwhile restoration projects, at least to me. I got to ride one when it was but a few years old and I was much, much younger myself. The trouble is with finding mundane parts for late-70s vintage models. Even harder than finding Aero parts!

I'd say go for it if you have the space, but be prepared for some scrounging. If it needs anything, Honda-san likely won't have it.

Restorations are for the patient and pure of thought......my son is now 31, and usually displays quite the opposite.....besides, no trailer queens allowed in garage....True, much pleasure could come from having a 400 Super Sport in showroom condition.....bottom line=rideability without worrying about a mishap that would ruin a costly paint job and crunch NOS parts....Fully expecting to see this bike massaged into the cafe-racer form....the trend is getting wide-spread and some riders are voicing their disgust with seeing so many doing the same things....No matter which direction this bike takes, it will always be a cool motomachine......I'm still waiting for my first ride on one.

Yikes! I'm doubly disqualified. By "Restoration", I just meant getting it running and looking good. The 400 engine, bristling with multiple curvy headers cleaving the wind, is a good candidate for that Cafe style.

Tiny pistons, very short stroke; Vibration is eerily absent. Sort of like holding a hair dryer...

I have an elite e frame that I just sand blasted and powder coated. It looks nice. I'm gonna swap in a variated af05 though. So its not for sale. :)
