I'm about to pick up an 86' Riva 125z possibly next week as an extra scoot. Just wondering if anyone here has one, had one, or knows of any performance modifications that can be done to them. Thanks :coolcruise:

Nice scoot, I have a 2003 yama vino 125. Change the rollers from stock 9 gs to 6s, new belt, and air filter and youre good to go for many years more. Mine will beat a 90 Mustang 5.0 and a 91 yama virago 750 to 60 mph. Oh ya get a tractor muffler from Ace hardware for $17.99. Biggest restriction on it is the lame yama muffler. I live in south county and its not very loud or they would pull me over Im sure.

Can you get me an item number for the muffler? Did you have to do any welding, or was it bolt on? Thanks, I work over in Affton by an Ace Hardware.

Its been about 2 years since i put it on the bike, had to weld it. Just measure the outer diameter and get the muffler with the same inner diameter(ID) as the yamas outer (OD). I live in afton near there, its a nice area but a lot of police that like to harass people.

Yeah, this thing is a blast, I just need to adjust the idle. It will idle real low if just sitting there and start to die, unless you barely touch the throttle back a little. 80-90 mpg, and I love the Yamaha trunk on the back it came with, even has a cushion on it for a passenger.

Hm, can't find any tractor mufflers on Ace's site. Wonder what else I can do. Wish I could get a nice aftermarket setup.
