Tool storage

I need to upgrade my toolboxes and cabinet. There is a Stack On that appears to be a good deal. Anyone have any experience with that brand? Any experience with Mater Mechanics brand? I don't really want to shell out thousands for a Snap On or Mac or...

What consumer brands/models do you recommend and don't you recommend? For example, I've heard the US General (HF brand) 26" boxes are crap but the 41" is good for specialty tools or non-comercial use.

I am also looking for a tool cart. Something small for now that is petrol resistant. HF has a coupon for this cart (four drawer, 580# cap) for $100. This cart is on sale for $170 with coupon.

It doesn't have to be a HF item either, that is just the coupon book I got yesterday.

if you can still find them, i got a popular mechanics tool box for 150.00. but that was 10years ago. it has 4 drawer top and 4 drawer bottom with a slide up storage area and 4 corner caster wheels. looks just like my craftsman. if it wasnt for the badges you would never know.

I bought this one on HF last year for 149 or so on sale. (coupons of course).

It doesn't have ball bearing drawers but it's held up well and does it's job.

I bought a craftsman 4.5' roll away at an estate sale for 50$ best thing i ever did it was in like new condition and even came with some tools. I can fit alot in it all my big boxy tools on the bottom 2 drawers and littler stuff on the way up. Try craigslist or hit up some sales now that i have one i see them all the time.

Thanks, I did look at that one in person but the clerk said it is really only good for 300 pounds (rated at 350). Just fyi, she said those slides work much better if you grease them or use a heavier chain lube. They are dry from the store.

I'm looking for at least 400# cap. 500 would be better but not required.

Abreen- how have you been finding estate sales in your area? Is there a site in addition to CL?

Thanks Odinxxix. I haven't found any Popular Mechanics boxes in a while but it lead me to some reviews on their site. Lots of good info there.
