Well I'm thinking about buying a motorcycle at home. Any suggestions on a good sports bike? Preferable $10k and under.

Easy does it....please, for everybody's sake, but mostly yours.
Ninja 250, Suzuki TU250 for a retro look, GZ250, Rebel Honda 250, too many logical and wise choices to be making a mistake of starting with too many ponies. Granted, you may have an advantage over persons that have no scooter experience, but uk-visionsa50 offered a very sensible list as well... :urban:

MSF course or equivalent absolutely recommended.

Yea I'm not 21 so I can't get a motorcycle license until I take a MSF course so I am definitely going to be taking one before I purchase my motorcycle. I like the look of the CBR 600. The ninja 250 looks a little girly doesn't it???

Yeah, not a fan of the 250 Ninja, I started with dirt bikes young. Then when I turned 18 I bought a 2000 ZX6R Ninja. Lots of trouble with 5-0, I recommend a Honda Shadow 600VLX. I had one last year and sold it to make more scooter funds available. You can get a nice clean one for around 1500.00 that is around the 2000-2003 era. Nice bikes. The new 250 CBRs look very nice also.

Ninja 250 is one of the most popular entry-level beginners bikes.
Not my choice either, but plentiful, cheap, and easy to sell, easy to ride.
Great LEARNER.... :thumbwink:

First bike. 250 to 500cc, or 600-650 in cruiser form. There are a lot of sport, street, motox options.

I like the GS500 or Savage as options.
