There is an 89 yamaha zuma for sale locally and I'm not sure if it's a deal I can or can't pass up on. It's not complete. Missing almost all of the panels. Both wheels are intact, as well as the whole front end. Vertical mina I believe. Cluster says 1750. Condition of engine internals is unknown. No carb.
Asking price was 150. I offered 100 and he said he was very firm at 150 because he can part it out for more.
I don't have much experience with the minarelli's, but I figured I might be a cool sb50 swap down the road.
Thanks all!

Yes buy it,
sold one for 750.00 not long ago. I would buy it, then clean it up and sell that pig. They are heavy, but if you want to go on trails they are cool.

Re: 89 zuma worth it?
I did think about buying it to flip it, but with the unknown condition of the engine and the difficulty of finding body panels for the early zuma's, I decided against it. My only interest in it would be the engine for a swap, and probably just part out the rest.
Re: 89 zuma worth it?
I think it would be more affordable to build an af16. That zuma would probably have the less desired vertical engine also, the horizontal is the one that would I would locate. My 94' jog has the horizontal motor. I am selling it this weekend to a college friend to help him out.
