Haven't been able to visit this forum in FOREVER. That's because I've been in and out of hospitals, surgery etc until now. Some time ago I had a nasty scooter accident that will likely prevent me from ever being able to ride a scooter or motorcycle again. I was running down a main stretch and got T-boned at an intersection. By the grace of God I somehow survived but I now have screws, plates and bars holding my lower back together and my neck will never be the same. And no I was not wearing a helmet, double lucky me. I've posted the last scooter in my collection for sale or part out... :( I'll still be here to chat from time to time and if the deals come by I will grab parts bikes for you guys. This forum has always served me well and I'm pretty sure at least 80% of my scooters went to forum members... I had 5 of them!

Hi wikked... :hi:
So sorry to hear of your troubled world.
Life changes in an instant sometimes.
May you continue to heal and grow stronger in every way.
I face the same dangers of being hurt badly,
and have been doing that for nearly 50 years.
So far, so good, with a little help from the Man.
Thanx for checking in... :urban:
Real glad you're still here... :thumbwink:

Thank ya, I'm glad to still be alive. I'm not supposed to ride anymore, but I'm sure someday when I finish recovering I will be dumb enough to try. One year of being in and out of surgery, constant pain, etc is terrible. I'll upload the accident pictures when I find them, I was riding a 98 Jog when this happened, I had just bought it and was on my way home with it... It was October last year.

Doctors keep telling me I will make a full but really slow recovery. They say I shouldnt ride anymore but where there's a will there's a way. I've been T-boned at high speed in demolition derbies and all kinds of stuff like that and it never phased me... And it was a Ford Escort that hit me

Glad to hear you're doing ok. Tbone on 2 wheels is a tough one to survive. I hope you can get back on the road

I actually had to go in this morning for X-rays and the doctors say I'll be able to ride again in about a year, but if anything close to this happens I wont be so lucky next time. I don't know how I survived it. That video that circulated around for awhile where the dude got hit on a moped and flung thru the air, that was pretty much me. Nothing left of the bike and all I remember was getting hit and waking up in the hospital.

I remember a guy I was good friends with called Lunytune here, he disappeared a few months before my accident. He ever return to the site?

Wheelman I'm glad to see you're still here. That's a name I will never forget. Only guy I remember for carrying scooters up and down stairs and building inside an apartment. Lol. I'm glad to be back here again, I love this forum... tried for what seems like years for a Mod spot but I learned most of what I know on scooters here. My death will be the only thing causing me to leave permanently... haha!

Greetings:

The Aero (120 Pounds) was easy to carry up the 17 steps. The Elite (140)got a little harder. I'm not even THINKING about trying that with the Reflex. (375 pounds...)
