So this happened today.. please don't ask me why.. LOL.. These were a his and hers deal when new, 236 miles on one, 231 on the other.. never scratched.. both look like they just came out of the showroom, except the turn signals aren't factory. Story I got is that the plastic on the turn signals turned to mush during 12 years of storage.. Treatland has the OEM ones in stock.. might do that. Already basketized with folding rear baskets.

Mine is slightly newer, but the same machine.
This is a file photo, but exactly like it.

Hey Vaughn, are your machines equipped with two-speed gearbox ?
I'm not all that familiar with the Tomos breed.
I sure like the kick-back to start feature.... :naughty:

mm,
Yes, they do have two speed gearboxes. They shift up a little bit sooner than a Gyro though... seems like about a second earlier. They get to high gear almost immediately. Also, the ST comes in two versions.. pedals and kicker.. Both of mine are the kicker type. It is hard to see from the photos, but mine have footpegs instead of pedals, and a folding kickstart similar to that in the C70 Passport, except that it is on the left side of the engine. In the photo below, the kickstart is folded away.. the grey rubber on the end of it is facing forward, just behind the cylinder head. It swings out when you want to use it.
In Florida, for a motor vehicle to be considered a moped and to be simply registered without creating a title, and so get a license plate to use on the public streets, it has to have working pedals. The two I have have titles and are registered as motor scooters. Also, there is no ignition key, only an on/off switch on the right handlebar where the kill switch is located on a Honda. There is a factory steering lock, that would keep someone from driving off with it, but they are so light that they could be tossed in the back of a pickup truck pretty easily. I don't think there is a helmet lock. I'm going to mount top boxes on the rear racks today, so I have someplace to put my helmet when I go inside stores. Also, these don't encourage WOT cornering like a Gyro, and have much less grip when leaned over. I almost missed my first turn.. LOL I learned pretty quickly that turns need to be taken more slowly.

I see the kick-start lever and footpegs now.
My bike has pedals, but the Tomos mopeds do not start like other mopeds.
Instead of pedaling to start, the pedal acts as a kick-start lever.
You simply rotate the pedal arm in reverse to spin the engine over.
I know this sounds a bit abnormal, but that is the process.
