You Never Know with eBay

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

I just sold a used stock Harley-Davidson Sportster airbox and filter on eBay. This was the fourth (4th!) time I listed it. The filters alone cost about $20 at HD. I started at $15 for the assembly. Then $12. Then $10, then $8.

Finally this thing started getting nibbles. The buyers bid it back up to $19 - still a good deal but hardly a killing - by the time all was done.

I recently sold a used windsurfing fin that cost me about eighty bucks in 1994. I started off at $20. By the time the bidding war ended, I received $86 minus shipping for this relic, albeit a desirable relic.

On the other hand, a kickstart cover complete with working mechanism and rubber-clad lever pedal sat unnoticed for a week, despite the very reasonable $20 asking. Ya never know from eBay.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.
