I am trying to clean a carb for my bro. It had been sitting for 3 years and the main jet had 1/4" of hard goo sitting in the hole. No wonder the carb was flooding.
But how in the world do i get this float off? I am trying to dunk it for a bit and can't figure out how to remove.
Carb is off a Perispeed Cheetah XS (engine is made by TGB).

The float pin should slide out to the side.
Re: Mikuni carb cleaning?
Thats what i was thinking, but it doesn't slide very easily. I just didn't want to break something that shouldn't be broken.Fishman43 wrote:The float pin should slide out to the side.

Re: Mikuni carb cleaning?
Greetings:
Fuel residues turn into very effective Epoxies. You might consider pre-soaking the pin area in solvent for a day Prior to putting pin-punch pressure to the float pin. That's the only way to drop the slide. Frustrating because when it isn't gummed in, the pin's a Bee-Yotch to keep it from falling out when you don't want it to.
