Re: Junkyard Zuma
The new piston comes with the seals in the caliper rebuild kit. $15 from the local Yamaha dealer.

Re: Junkyard Zuma
Yea eliteguy50, powersportsplus has it for 13 something plus shipping. going to try and get this one fixed with what I have available before I buy anything. Will debate a rebuild kit VS china clone depending on how much money I have and whether i can salvage a MC piston from a junk one I have around here. Have a few motorcycles and 4 wheelers that may have good pistons that will work. I pulled the MC off the Rebel and the piston looks like it might work plus it isnt stuck in the housing just gotta go borrow that snap ring tool again

Re: Junkyard Zuma
I'd use the Rebel MC to blast apart the caliper b/f you take it apart.
The outside of the MC casting usually lists the inner diameter of the MC. If the IDs are similar and the lengths are similar, should work. If it doesn't work, system may lock up (push once, brakes don't release) or you won't be able to bleed it.

Re: Junkyard Zuma
Last night a severe thunderstorm ripped up a 200 year old oak in the front yard and also blew my Zuma over, I braved hte cloud to ground lightning to get it off the ground and parked it in front of hte house. Luckily no damage was done. Checked it again this morning and some gas had spilled out of the tank causing the new paint job to bubble around the edge of where the seat is I guess its better a little damaged paint than busted up plastics and broken mirrors. At any rate went to the junkyard and salvaged a master cylinder and caliper from a eton beamer, perfect match except the brake switch had 2 ends instead of a plastic connector. Now I have front disk brakes working great
