yamaha zuma belt length

anyone have any experience with the polini kelvlar belts for a zuma? it seems like its too short, and not riding on the outside of the rear pulley, raising the effective ratio for takeoff. even with the black malossi clutch springs, the stiffest ones, its a turd off the line. once it gets up it goes, nut the top speed is less too, probably because the short belt rides too low on the variator. it is like taking off in 2nd gear, and only getting 4th in a 5 speed...anyone know if they sell a belt a few mm longer?

are you running a chamber pipe?if so what kind?as for the belt nor riding to the edge of the face drive, its the rear pulley sheave.it has a welded bead on the inside which acts like a restricter.if you can find a rear pulley sheave from a tng venice or ls49,eton matrix 2,eton quad 50,70,90,polaris scrambler 90.if you try to grind down that welded bead the pulley will break and the belt will get stuck in that little chamber after the welded bead.

huh, interesting, running the arrow pipe, its definitely for high rpms. i found some athena belts, they are substantially longer than the polini belt, slightly longer than the oem belt. i will look for the rear pulley for sure then, thanks for the tip!

you want a jog90 length belt, it is 788 or 787mm long.

stock zuma/jog50 belt is 780

i got a jog 90 belt, it was way too long, slipped badly on takeoff it was so long. the athena belt is longer than the stock belt, way longer than the polini, and shorter than the jog90 belt, by just enough to grab on takeoff. it still rides low, but i think now its because of the pulley...any sources on those bakaracer? thanks!

your best bet is to check ebay or try on the other scooter forums for sale section.try and see if you can get your hands on a jog50 rear pulley and see if it slides on the rear shaft.more of those around.
