Gas in the oil

I know that this is a Honda forum so dont kill me but I have a 4 stroke moped that has gas in the oil. I went to change the oil and it came out more gas than oil. The jug is still in good shape and has good compression. Any ideas on how the gas is getting in the oil?

Blown head gasket and or a bad carb will do that.

I was thinking the same but wouldnt it have low compression with a bad head gasket? The carb seems to be working right so I just dont know.

I have a OHV mower that ran like a raped ape but it smoked worse than a freight train(When I engaged the deck it blew so much smoke I couldn't see!). Oil smelled like gas, exhaust out the PCV, etc. But it ran GREAT. Bought a new gasket and its been doing good ever since, might still have the blown one, the blowout was pretty big.

Gasket blow is the most probable thing. In the worst case scenario it could also be due to having worn piston rings causing excessive intake charge fuel to seep past the worn rings into the crankcase.

is this the first time you have changed the oil?...PO may have mistook the oil fill for the gas cap and poured some gas in there (neighbors daughter did this once to his push mower).
