So I made a goofy stand ,I took some square tube drilled a hole , and screwed it into the fender holes , then put it on top of a wooden box .
It is always such a pain to work on Gyros because there is no flat places to put a box under it . and if the break is not set it tips over . I was just wondering if anyone else had a better way to mount the bike and get it off the ground .
I also tried to use a motorcycle stand but it was not very secure , I just got a lift from Harbor Freight but had to get the extra front wheel adapters and drill holes to mount to the fender holes , I just did it tonight and have not been able to see if it will work .
Here's the set-up I use........all too easy.............

No offense taken, but 'round these parts such a statement needs to be backed up with a gun rack. An AK47 oughta do it.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

I've had the same. Ride up on a busted old elite E and get no respect, Ride up on a Classic the next day and things change. They seem to understand more once you show them that a 90 pound bike can do circles in a single parking space with no feet on the ground.

Funny, I've been telling my Big-Bike Brothers the same thing for a couple of years. Also the agility to miss that crater-size pothole emerging from beneath the wheels of that Durango up ahead - that you're bound to smack on an HD - is another endearing feature of a 50 around town.

Question asked by chevyguyjay......."what kind of oil do you use in the crankcase of your Gyro?" .......... .........Since I just drained and filled mine, the answer is easy........check the manual............recommended is 10w40 for the transmission which is translated "crankcase"....that's what he meant.....also, since my Gyro is pushed extremely hard, I opted to fill with sae 30w......this might change the clutch performance some, I'll know more after a day of racing.

Thanx Taz........many more gyro parts coming available as the '86 Resto progresses.....the rare parts not so much, but any need that anybody wishes to voice, I'm listening......30w oil in my trans had no affect to my discernment......I made a rookie mistake and had vent tube from the case Tee'd into carb vent tube... ....result was pushing air into carb bowl and changing fuel delivery.....ran normal halfway up but never would lean out for top speed....found error after eating puddle spray all day........S#*t happens.............. .... ............here's how to bicycle a gyro.........
