With Aero's cooling hose feeding fresh air into the cover, I suppose a few holes back by the clutch might give some better flow...good call... :thumbwink:
The carb set-up on my Aero cost right at $200 including everything. Bear 45-70 is the source for the adapter. You wont find an adapter for this application anywhere else. It is custom. My Mikuni was slightly used for $100., retail is more like $125-130. No throttle cable change, the stock one just barely fit, but has no issues.

motormike wrote:...Red Dog scooters is my hero for the day. I was fortunate to find that a long-forgotten parts-bike (CH125) in their basement was still in possession of a Bando 23100-KJ9A-0030. The back measures 17.15 mm, so still within useable specs. Imma throw it on in the morning and be mobile again, hopefully until I can get a NEW belt that measures 799 X 19 X 28. Those seem to be available as they fit GY6's. .................. :coolcruise:

The whole issue of
BELT continues with some new info. Bear has found a source for a few belts (via ebay) that are the CORRECT size..i.e.=794 X 18 X 30...however are not BANDO. I have already ordered the NEAR size=799 X 19 X 28 from another source (via ebay: cost=$27.80 shipped.. :naughty: ) and will try that before making the determination of which belt is the best value and performer. ADDITIONALLY: this company named [servicehonda] shows to have the OEM Bando 23100-KJ9-003 in stock for considerably less than the $92.00 wanted by the dealers I've questioned. Here is a link to the company>>>> http://servicehonda.com/contact

Thanks to Racerjack for this... :thumbwink:

Good call on "Servicehonda"! Been using them for a few years now and got all the parts for my recent MB5 engine rebuild from them. Well except for a few NOS/discontinued pieces that I dug up on Ebay. I've yet to find another factory parts dealer with as deep discounting. GK

Are all people from Tennessee sight challenged? :D

Not that I'm complaining, your use of the extra large font helps me when reading.

But I just realized I was born there at Millington NAS.

The regular smaller font just looked odd in response to Motormike's post. That said, it's easier to just let the program use it's default font but sometimes it's boring. Rock on...

I refuse to wear reading glasses unless absolutely necessary. Got started with large font and has become standard.
Don't recognize the name Millington NAS. Military I will assume for now...

Naval Air Station by Memphis. Dad must not have been stationed there too long, my brother was born 11 months later in Florida.

Passed on a chance for one here.
Still infatuated with Ruby, and need to give some love to Judi, the Aero 50 '85 I got recently.
At my self-imposed limit currently.
I draw the line at bringing them in the house...lol

I dont think anyone will argue that Honda design of the "auto-choke" system on Aero 80's was a bit of an "Edsel",...I've never seen anything like it elsewhere... :hi: ...G'luck with yours, Seeya on the funway..... :coolcruise:

Actually Honda used the same system on several earlier scooters/mopeds. The Aero 80 was the last on to have it.

About a week ago, I came out of the deli and jumped on Ruby.
Turned the key, hit the button, and the racket coming from the left side was startling. WAP, WAP, WAP....
looking down to find the carb "dangling" from the hoses... :surprise: :surprise: :surprise: ... :*:
....PROBABLY an accident by an unconscious hipster texting his latest status on fb,
OR was it a maliscious foot involved in the dislodging of the firmly secured Mikuni... :?:  .
....either way, the K&N pod filter suffered damage of the crumpling kind.
So, today i slammed the UNI on for a 30 mile romp up to the Smokin' Pig BBQ.
Oiled and safety-wired to the clamp, the difference was negligible.
I expected a louder report...didn't happen..
Mine has the slight angle. Cover still not likely to clear, haven't tried yet... :hi:
