I will be posting in the Wanted/For Sale column seeking these gears and bearings.... :thumbwink:
First I will check to see how many of the bearings are still available from Honda,
but I already KNOW that all gears are NLA....

Used parts have been purchased.
Ruby has been sitting idle for 7 months.
Aaaaaarrrrgh it has been soooooo long....
I have a Gyro project that is not yet finished,(but running)
and my NS50F is needing some carb cleaning, (or at least a swap)
Elite 80 is fast approaching rear tire exhaustion, (least of it's worries)
PC800 sits completely ignored, in bits, (that IS sad)
XL100 suffering from broken exhaust stud, (should probably fix this first)
ambient temps in garage near 90* or better most days.
Riding means wrenching....

I might be able to salvage that cover of yours mike. I would be willing to try for free sometime if you dont mind the wait. I think I could bore that out and make a new bushing and press a new bushing in there.

As it stands right now deuce217, I have a good used cover that I purchased with the gears,
so the repair of the transmission can be achieved without repairing the original cover.
My cover certainly does appear to be a good candidate for the repair you suggest.
It makes good sense to save it...there are only so many left on this planet.
I'll give this some thought later, much later most likely....hahaha....first thing is to
fit those gears back into Ruby and see if I can return her back to the road...thanx for the offer... :thumbwink:

The day finally arrived... :woot:
Ruby has been fitted with the gears, bearings, and trans-cover yesterday.
Took her on a quick shake-down late in the day.
All seems to have aligned and once again, the scorching-hot wickedness of Ruby is awakened.
This hibernation of 15 months has left her with a bit of asthma, though.
That Mikuni will need to take a swim in the Berryman's today...about to do that now... :thumbwink:
I had entertained the idea of selling her in order to off-set the expense of Swoopy...
....but that idea is about to be tabled.

Ruby is now sporting a sparkling Mikuni,
with a 145 main jet instead of 140... :thumbwink:
NEW Gates Power-Link belt has given Ruby some slow-take-off blues.
I ordered some Dr Pulley sliders today...15 gram...to replace the 19's that I started with when the carb was changed.
Top speed is so off-the-charts that I can sacrifice a little to achieve some better launch characteristics.
Updates as they occur... :urban:

Removed the 19 gram sliders today and replaced with Dr Pulley's 15 gram.
Size is 20 X 15, by the way... :thumbwink:
The 19's have several thousand miles on them, and showed absolutely NO WEAR, running dry.
Instantly solved the sluggish launch problem, at least changed it to better.
The belt is still wearing in...
Also installed the cylinder shroud by unbolting the shocks, and swinging the assembly down to achieve clearance.
I sold the rear turn signals to one of you members...I thought they were ugly and protruding.
Replaced them with some front signals that I scavenged from a Chinese scooter.
Clear lens with amber bulb, mounted on the OEM brackets, but on the reverse side.
They are tucked under the rack.
They flasher relay had taken a dump sometime during the last 15 months of storage,
so the auto-parts store supplied a cheap-o for under $5.
Ruby is coming around...I hate to admit that I was considering selling her.
I should update some pix...tomorrow... :urban:

I felt the need to see what changes did to my top speed,...so...
I took Ruby to the nearby expressway.
Just before getting to the entrance ramp, there sat a Metro patrol-car, 12:01 a.m.
What with my aging eyes, pitch of midnight, and the officer playing it coy in the shadows,
I failed to see him until I was squarely in his sights... ... ...
To my surprise (I'm guessing I was doing 45 in a 35 zone)...he flashed his blue lights on, off, and on again,
I rolled off about that same instant, braked stiffly, and threw my right hand up as to say "Okay, busted"
He accepted the gesture, apparently, and I suspect he took into account that I was the only vehicle on the road.
I made a big circle back to the house...and thank the officer for some kindness... :urban:

Here is a couple pix the day I replaced the shroud and sliders... :urban:
Dropped the main jet back to 135 also,,,see that nasty plug...
The shroud was broken in several places.
First, the strap connecting front to rear, behind the flywheel, broke off last year and got mangled by the fan.
That obviously led to a compromise in the rigidity of the remaining shroud,
and allowed vibration to permeate the entire enclosure, resulting in cracks at every mounting point.
You can see one of the corners that is broken completely off lying beside the shroud.

These turn signals are highly visible, and completely tucked away.
