UK Honda Vision NE50 MF - newbie performance advice sought

Re: UK Honda Vision NE50 MF - newbie performance advice soug
Thanks guys - especially Danny. I'm heartened by the responses guys.
I managed to score some new Malossi gears and the multivar from an Italian ebay seller today for a combined total of 82 EUR delivered to my door.
I'm working on getting hold of a Wild Lion pipe, but will fall back to the SP3 if I can't get it.
Danny - what was involved in de-restricting the SP3?
I'm set on getting the Malossi cylinder kit, but still can't understand why the UK stockists all say it works with the stock head, when I'd expect it to require the Malossi head (btw - even on eBay, the kits don't seem to come with the Malossi head). Does anyone have a part number for the Malossi head?
I was hoping to place my orders through RED EFT, however with postage factored in, I don't think that's viable.
Thanks again for the advice guys - Danny, I'll pm you!
Cheers

Hi,
There is a disc of metal in the end of the pipe that bolts to the cylinder. Its held on with a small spot weld. I just dremmeld it of and removed the disc. Basically it allows more air to go through.

The link above shows the Malossi head and where to get one. You can use the original head but for £40 its worth getting the malossi.
Have to let me know how you get on with those primarys.
Cheers
Danny

Bit of an update, the variator, ramp, rollers and spring arrived from the Italian ebay seller, along with the primary gears. I'm still looking for a new pipe and although I had been set on the Malossi Wild Lion, the Italian ebay seller says he can get me a PROMA chrome (road legal) exhaust, a PROMA race (not road legal), or an Arrow Shark exhaust.
I've tried a bit of Google'fu, but can't see much info on any of these exhausts. Does anyone on here have any experience of them?
Thanks

Bit of an update while I'm still waiting for input on which can to get.
I've had a knee op recently so not able to get around much. I'd got this far prepping the other panels before I went under the knife.
Hard to believe but they had 3 layers of paint on them. Grey primer, on top of blue, which had red underneath.
As an FYI, here's my other bike. ...

Remember, the OP is in the UK, so there are more options besides the SP3.swimmingfree wrote:you have a se50 so all you can get for a bbk is 63cc (48mm piston) you are mixing up the se50 with the af05 motor that will give you more mod .. the se50 has fue mod you can do to it ...there is only one pipe one bbk and not a lot more that just a bolt on stuff..you can get a bigger carb but you will need to make a adapter for the manifold...
swimmingfree
ps
do you have 4 bolts or 2 bolts holding the manifold to the block????
here is the pipe that will fit

Thanks pal. I see you posted in the exhaust thread I posted. I'm torn between getting one of those or a Malossi wild lion. I'm veering towards the Malossi as they're a brand I'm familiar with and the guy selling the other pipes hasn't given me any technical info on them.eliteguy50 wrote: Remember, the OP is in the UK, so there are more options besides the SP3.
Thanks Paul, do you have any links? Also, as per my response to eliteguy50, do you have any thoughts on the pipes I've posted in the 'which performance exhaust' thread?paulpauly7 wrote:and theres 4 different pipes available in japan for the se50 not just the sp3

While I have no experience with those 2 proms pipes, the promas I've had have been good performers.
Personally, I would go with the wild lion. It is a proven exhaust, looks street legal, has a solid 2 bolt hanger bracket, and seems like a slightly higher quality pipe.

Hi, this is an interesting thread (and I hope this isn't a hijack) as I have just acquired a non- running Vision with the same livery as nobbylad but in the metallic red (my other bike is an SV too!). I've done a total rebuild of an RD400 in recent years but know nothing about scooters so it will be interesting for me. Trying to get my head around rollers and variators and what upgrades to fit so do please keep up the good work on this resto nobbylad, I look forward to how it turns out

Here's the variator I bought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190774085615? ... 1439.l2649
..and the gears http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190774059455? ... 1439.l2649
Here's the last scoot I restored for a charity run
Looks like it may be the same as the one you have wizbit?

Yes that's the one but mine is an '85 UK model with front indicators built in to the handlebars.
I'm looking to do some cheap simple mods to free up more power.
