Bastardized Elite Build
Took the slowest engine available out there and slapped it into an elite frame
Why, because the stock engine did not run
thats what I was told, not my bike but I put this monstrosity together
At least it does start right up and drive so its not a total loss
I used a honda metropolitan engine, and gears but ruckus swingarm to make it a little longer
Ended up doing a semi hard tail shock in the rear, stock suspension up front
Pretty quick because its such a light bike, but with no speedo not sure how it performs
Added frame brace for the looks, as what you see is how it will be
no body panels
Stripped off a decent seat cover and foam for the look too, but I think it looks cool that way
I was hoping for a dirty primer look, or rusty but it got painted black
This is how it ended up
below will be some fabrication pictures
inside the handle bar bag is all the electronics for the donor engine as it was made for a ruckus
we thought the wiring we got was for the metropolitan engine as that would all mount under the seat, but we were given the wrong type but it can work exactly the same just in a different spot on the bike
met engine
engine mount
trying to set ride height full compressed
wanted to have a tiny amount of safety so I used a shock I keep around with no spring in it
shock mounted
although the frame clearance was perfect
it sat a little too low to the ground
so I ended up putting a spacer on the shock shaft to make like a hard tail
but still look like a shock
barely moves so its not totally sold
made a quick mount for the stock headlight
note all the electronics up front
now I got a ruckus swingarm to install
so that moves the rear wheel back about 4 inches
and allows a taller tire which we used
although I think on this bike the smaller tire would look better
since it moved back now my shock mount was too far away
I had this extension laying around and you can see how I made the shock into a hard tail
also I like the stance it had now, lower but the taller tire helped raise it too
also had the rack put on so the brake light mounted better too

That is way too cool, awesome work! It looks natural almost. Seriously awesome!
Re: Bastardized Elite Build
thanks
It was hard trying to think of an engine mount as the frame is pretty wide
but I found the tubing matched the exposed frame nicer then using flat stock which I was thinking about using first
everything else pretty much lined up once that was set
now hopefully everything holds up over time

Mike! Looks good!!!
Now you need to get a elite, so we can have a very Elite Scooter Crew in SD! I think this would be a great platform for the Vino 125 engine you have.

Re: Bastardized Elite Build
Very clean build. Supercharged will be sweet. I've seen this attempted on a couple gy6 builds usually 150s. Never get to see the outcome. Looks sweet though.

Someone is fabbing up an old smog pump, to act as a belt driven super charger. You should have checked Whatsapp this morning around 5ish. Then you would have been *..

Re: Bastardized Elite Build
when my mount goes out in my car it jars and bangs like s***. hows that thing riding?
Re: Bastardized Elite Build
You would be inferencing the shock not the motor mount. When your motor mount goes out it allows your engine to shift around. Not even in the same ball park. This would be the same thing as doing a hard tail conversion on a Harley.

Re: Bastardized Elite Build
the shock does move about 1/4 inch down
maybe 1 inch up
so its not too bad of a ride
front helps soak up some
alot of use come from lowered, stretched scooters already so we know what to expect out of a ride and how to ride them
its more about the look, if you want comfort keep it stock
It had working suspension before adding the longer swingarm, I had already extended the rear suspension when you look at pics when the bike was gray
but when I was brought the longer swingarm the bike was already black and I would of needed to put a shock mount near the gas tank to get working suspension, and by then I didnt feel like ruining the paint job by welding over it
and re thinking a whole suspension
if anything a longer shock could solve the problem too
