Very nice method - I like it better than the Tusk because it's easier on the bearings. Can you tell me where you got those supplies and give more specs on them? Maybe explain your "jam nut" with a pic?

Since I was bored and still waiting for parts, I figured I'd throw this up here.
This is a picture of different ignition cables, what is inside, and how they differ. Unlike most automotive cables which are usually made of carbon conductors, or spiral wound , our cables are solid core. Automotive cables need to have emi/rfi suppression. Ours dont. There is no suppression in a solid core cable. The OEM plug cap has resistor built in to it to cut down on interference. I chose to use an NGK cap without a resistor. Anyway, from left to right - this is what you see.
OEM cable - 7 strands of tinned copper with some sort of rubber jacket.
Koso cable - came with my coil, I'm sure it is similar to what comes with most a/m coils. 7 strands of tinned copper,what looks like a layer of Epdm, fiberglass braid, and silicone jacket.
Magnecor copper core 7mm - 19 strands of tinned copper, EPDM, fiberglass braid, silicone jacket
Magnecor copper core 7mm high temp - 19 strands of tinned copper, silicone layer, fiberglass braid, and another layer of silcone jacket.
You can see there are differnences between all of these. Generally a higher strand count is going to provide more area for the energy to travel, and is more flexible.
I doubt that this means anything as far as performance goes, but the two Magnecor cables are obviously higher quality, made in the US, and are not expensive. I just happened to be about 2 miles from these guys. I picked up a couple feet of the standard and high temp. $1.65 and $2.50 / ft. So lunch basically cost more than replacing your cable with fresh, new cable. As I said, in may not make anything faster, but it definitely doesn't hurt anything either.
As far as my project goes, I just got an email with tracking for my parts from Honda that I am waiting on. Hopefully I'll ve able to put this back together to ride I a few days.
