Here is a photo of my two Navis. The Ranger Green started life as a Grasshopper, as both came in the same box from Honda. My next step is to add the Viper Urban Camo Graphics kit to the Ranger:

Talk about a great weekend for moped rally...Nashville was filled with the buzzing of 2-stroke bikes.
I took a rough count and totaled at least 160 bikes. People were here from every corner of the USA.

June 11, 2022... :urban:
One week until Paul McCartney and I have a birthday, I reach 69, Paul turns 80.
I don't have Paul's money, nor talent, but I've had more mortorbikes...lol.... :geekdance:
Great day here in southern Kentucky, car show on the square.
My fave of the show was a 1964 Rambler 440 hardtop w/big V8 of unknown origin w/cross-ram dual 4 bbl carbs..real sleeper, hubcap car.
No pix, sorry....ever since the format changed for this board, pix size is always a challenge.
Wherever you are, be safe, keep your mouth closed, and rubber side down.
This photo taken on 65th birthday at Birdsong Hollow Bridge, Natchez Trace.

Here's a nice survivor that you may not recognize as a Studebaker.
Sitting at local auto repair shop, Glasgow, KY.
This is the Avanti II...impossible for me to discern the year, but likely to be 1964-1970.

This little gem sits in a town nearby.
Fun stuff if you've got the will.
I prefer the Meyers Manx over all other kit-cars,
but this Bradley GT has always been a favorite.

Greetings:

Pretty sure side-marker lamps were made mandatory in 1968, making the Avanti at least that "new".

Hello to all... :hi:
Do you ride a Chinese scooter ?
If you answered "Yes", you have my sympathy.
I know that I am a bit snobbish when it comes to Japanese vs. Chinese.
When I started buying motorbikes,(1972) it was Japanese, Italian, British, or American.
Modern times has seen a huge influx of Chinese, Taiwan, and yes,
even some American scooters on the market.
The Chinese bikes are a waste of money.
The Taiwan bikes are better, and the American offerings are something I'm not very well versed about.
Give me a Honda, period. No question about their superior quality.
That's the way it was, and that's the way it is.
I am member of several facebook groups, one or two with a huge amount of very young people
who tend to purchase Chinese junk, and then want to know why it is broken and how to fix it.
Such an annoyance to hear the same story over and over.
They continue to buy junk parts, fix their junk bike, and then wonder why it is still junk.
I hope you are wiser than those people.
Buy Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki and never look back.
Keep calm and enjoy every sandwich.....motor... :urban:

They buy the Chinese stuff simply because of the low price. Im seeing the 49cc offerings for $649-$699 in my area. Imagine the actual manufacturing costs with prices that low. Factor in shipping cost, manufacturer profit margin and finally dealer profit here Stateside. I bet its a $200 build total.

Its crazy seeing one up close because they usually come equipped with disc brakes, led lights, digital gauges w/ temp-volt-rpm, etc…
The Honda Ruckus is pushing $3k and comes with none of that. However, my buddy has a bone stock Ruck he bought new 4yrs ago and uses it as a work commuter when weather permits. Has close to 8,000 miles on it and still runs like a swiss timepiece. Proof is in the puddin.
I need to find some new haters...the ones I have are starting to like me.

I don't recall ever seeing a Chinese scoot with 8k miles on it. Young kid who I've met lately has a "Wolf" brand scoot with 6k miles on it, but he is needing to put a new cylinder on it for the 3rd time.

Long ago, I bought a 1986 Honda Helix, Glory Red.
I only had it few days, and then rode it to Portland, Indiana for a National Cushman meet and swap.
Sold it at the meet, bought a 1974 Honda CB125, and rode it home 113 miles, at night.
This brief experience with Helix left me with a unsatisfied appetite.
Fast forward 20 years, and I bought a 2000 Helix in Pure Red.
I made up for the first brief encounter by keeping and riding this Helix for more than 10,000 miles.
Then the urge to have Yellow became overwhelming, so i mounted a search for a Yellow Helix.
Finally found one in Minnesota that suited my needs, so purchased and shipped to Nashville, TN.
During the time I rode the Yellow, my circle of fellow riders had become more saturated with riders of larger bikes.
In answer to the perceived need for something bigger, sold the Yellow and bought a 2012 Yamaha Majesty 400.
The upgrade in power was quite pleasing, but the seating of the Yamaha never fit my butt.
After a little more than a year, the Yamaha was sold, and the urge to return to Helix once again became real.
I looked for several months, seeking only the elusive Black in very good condition.
I found plenty of junk, rattle-canned, ragged-out, no-title, ripped-seat, poorly maintained pieces of crap.
Finally, last week, a marketplace ad popped up with a 2001 Black, 4,000 mile, titled, new windscreen, running and riding Helix.
It was only about a 3 1/2 hour drive to Bedford, Indiana...and the seller was eager to relinquish ownership.
It's still on the trailer, but here's a pic from the ad....rock-on...motor
