Its me again with another problem.... Getting pretty frustrated at everything.
anyways I was riding to class today and after about a mile i was riding along and there was a loud sound and the scooter died... I tried kicking it over and it seemed to kick over ok... maybe a little easy... I dunno I just have no idea whats wrong. I have a CHT on it and I havnt hit over 350. Most of my ride temps are high 200's. I have to push it home after class and hopefully pull the plug..check that, maybe do a compression test I just have no idea what it could be. Any advice would be awesome!

Re: 96 Elite died on me
Loud sound as in a pop or a knock? did it die right away or slowly stall out as the trans dragged the motor to a halt? Sounds like rings, but run a compression test and test your oil pump. Those things love to fail apparently. I just suffered that fate
Re: 96 Elite died on me
I just got an oil pump with like a 1000 miles on it... And I can't believe it would be the oil pump if I wasn't running super hot. It still kicks over good so I dunno. I'll have to take it apart and see
Re: 96 Elite died on me
Well you have a point, maybe you were running with a air leak, idk 2 stroke engines are odd.
Re: 96 Elite died on me
Found out that the problem was that my spark plug unscrewed itself.... Free fixes are nice!
Re: 96 Elite died on me
hahahaha that happened to me originally too.
Re: 96 Elite died on me
