48mm spree BBK and Variator info (taz)
I am sure all of you have been wondering when the Great Taz is going to get the 48mm BBK for the spree done. I decided with a 48mm kit instead of a 47mm. I really do not like the 47mm size because that is where the punch zone begins. So in 3 months the 48mm kit for the GK8 engine will be a reality. This will fit the spree, elite e, pal, and the pax.
Also I am getting a variater done for the spree. Yes I just said i am getting a variator for the spree made with rollers. d*** I am the mann. hehe. It will be done in at about the same time as the BBK.
Now fellas I know you will be excited about this.

ok i guess it poses this question. will the vari fit in behind the stock cover or will we have to grind/find one to work?

Good question, but either way put me on the waiting list for both the bigger bbk and the variodinxxix wrote:ok i guess it poses this question. will the vari fit in behind the stock cover or will we have to grind/find one to work?

I am not sure on the cost. It will be an engineering marvel to even make one. I hope it works out to our benefit.

a 58cc with a variator! You are going to be the welcomed by a lot of spree owners who want to run 40+ mph and have decent acceleration.

Re: 48mm spree BBK and Variator info (taz)
i dont own a spree anymore, but i will buy one just for the variator! sprees are so plentiful in my area compared to the dio engined elites and (nice)aero 50s. i dream of a tiny scooter keeping up with traffic without needing a dio swap.
make sure to make enough Taz because they will be in high demand!

I don't even have a running Spree motor and I'll take one for sure(vari). My question is, you're going to need a variable rear pulley, got that one figured out yet?

What about heads, do we just get them bored out to 48mm then?

How about larger breaks - the spree frame and breaking system was not meant to deal with such high speeds. Any leads on a cheap disc break system?
