My '84 Spree recently started bogging out at high RPMs. I've cleaned the carb out, replaced the spark plug... old spark plug seemed fine... getting a spark, compression is at 120 PSI (checked 3 times), also replaced the battery.
The only thing I can think of is that it's running too much fuel through the engine. I'm not sure what to do about that. Replace the main jet with a smaller one? Is there an adjustment I can make elsewhere?

I would make sure that your airbox is sealed and mounted properly.

Ride around with side panels removed. When the bike starts bogging down, place a finger over one of the holes on the back of the airbox. Does it recover?
