Re: 45mm bore
you are going to need slightly heavier weights with that ruima its already lighter than most other varis I would say 10 or even 11g. you may want to get a mixed set that goes up to 14g so you can fine tune it. Not really for sure. I know 9g is too light cause thats what i put in mine when I tested it for my current build but then again you have a different setup

Re: 45mm bore
have any of you tried increasing the oil fittings from the oil pump to increase flow? It would be awesome to be able to have injection with our BBK's. Maybe we could port the pick up and exit areas on the pumps to flow a bit more... Please let me know what you think, I am sure this has been brought up before.

Re: 45mm bore
You need to increase the capacity of the pump and that takes a bigger pump. like off an 80cc or 125cc scooter motor.deuce217 wrote:have any of you tried increasing the oil fittings from the oil pump to increase flow? Do you know if the elite 80 has the same gear pitch? I might be able to score one of those for free.Bear45-70 wrote:You need to increase the capacity of the pump and that takes a bigger pump. like off an 80cc or 125cc scooter motor.deuce217 wrote:have any of you tried increasing the oil fittings from the oil pump to increase flow? Re: 45mm bore
The Elite 80 is a 4 stroke and has an oil pump in the crankcase to circulate lubrication oil to the necessary parts not the same as a 2 stroke injection pump. The Aero 80 was a 2 stroke and though I have a spare Aero 80 pump, I have nothing to compare it too.deuce217 wrote:Do you know if the elite 80 has the same gear pitch? Think we can work a deal? I would love to try to make it work. If the gears do not have the same pitch I may be able to weld the 50cc gears on the 80 pump. I have done something similar in the past with success.

Well, I just found out that the Aero 80 and 125 both use the same "O"ring on the oil pump as does the 1985 Aero 50 and the 8 other 50cc scooters I checked. But I do not know if everything else us the same. The gears I would suspect are different as the crank is bigger in diameter on the bigger motors. What do you think is a fair price for the Aero 80 oil pump? FYI the are available from Honda still, only $182.80 list price, ouch!

Bear- pop out the gear from the aero50 pump and see if it goes into the aero 80 or 125 pump.if it does and the length is the same <then it will work.

Trouble with that is the the Aero 50 is still fully assembled, with plastics on and not in the heated shop yet. My hands last about 5 minutes in the cold, below 45┬░

Re: 45mm bore
Yeah, I had carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands bad (cupital tunnel in the elbows too), they did the surgery and I had the pain relief, the problem was I was a 5% of the 5%. In 5% of the cases there is only pain relief, but in 5% of those cases there is a lose of dexterity and strength. I guess that is an improvement. To top it off the arthritis in my thumbs is so bad that the pain just moved to my thumbs with a 25% reduction. It real sucks when you've used you hands your whole like to great results and now changing more than one spark plug is a challenge.deuce217 wrote:d*** arthritis! Re: 45mm bore
Ok I grab full throttle she flies up to 47mph on flat. But if I bak off throttle 1/8 she is quieter and stays at 47ish. She doesn't sound like the main. Jet is adding to much fuel but idk why else she would maintain the same speed. 48/100 jets 10gram rollers 9.1 gears v8 exhaust. Should I go down to a 95main jet or adjust the needle some how? Thanks for the help
Re: 45mm bore
you might try different weights or springs. with the ruima vari with 9.1 gram weights i got to 45ish at about half throttle

does your carb have a power jet on it? is there a pinkish hose going from the float bowl to the mouth of the carb?
