What is stock rear gearing in 01 elite? 9.8:1
Okay, so i'm about to order some trans parts from vtcycles and I've got a few questions. If I just get the oko high speed pulley, what will that do for me? Better take off, or better top end? I know I can change the roller weights as well, but specifically this aftermarket piece, why is it better than stock?
What top speed can I expect with stock cylinder, exhaust, carb, air filter, and just the new pulley with stock final drive? What about with 9:1 final drive?

the aftermarket variators usually have different ramp angles and such, so the take off is improved. they are also shaped differently than stock so the belt rides up higher on the pulley, giving a higher ratio and thus a higher top speed. on my aero, it gave much better take off and low speed ooomph and 5mph more on the top end. a little over 40mph is what i got, i would expect more out of an elite...

So if the stock gears are 12.44:1, and tops out at 40mph, and with stock motor you can go 55 with 9:1 gears because the motor doesn't have enough power to go faster. What if you had more power from a big bore kit, stroker, ect. ect., what would the 9:1 gears be capable of? (aka max mph)Dac wrote:BTW- Stock gears = 12.44:1
Does vtcycles sell anything between 12.44:1 and 9:1? I'd like 50mph to be the max speed of the trans and just tune the clutch and variator to give best acceleration to 50, where it tops out. No need to leave any acceleration on the table when I don't care about over 50.
im not sure who told you 55, but from my experience, 50mph is what your going to get.
And they make different gears for different set ups. theres like 10:1, 9:1, 8.44:1, 7:1 , and i think it goes down as low as like 5:1

Ohh, well 50 then. Lets say you have tons of power, what would 9:1 gears max mph be then? Does anybody know, or anybody that maxed out 9:1 gears and then bought shorter 7:1 gears?Dac wrote:im not sure who told you 55, but from my experience, 50mph is what your going to get.

I can't remember who said it, but I think it was tru72 that said he had a full setup that did 70mph on a 9:1 gearset.

MPH and RPM
Greetings:
To run 70 MPH with a 16 inch tire diameter, 9:1 gearing, and 0.8:1 variator overdrive, the engine would need to spin at 16,250 RPM. This excludes belt and tire slippage. Better run a rich mixture. And find a steep hill.
